Community Service
As part of the social outreach initiative by the school, a comprehensive Community Service program has been instituted for the students. The school has implemented the program with the twin objectives of meeting the School’s commitment to the society at large and to inspire its students to engage in social activities and to instill in them the qualities of care, compassion and empathy.
The social outreach Program has been made the integral part of the School’s curriculum and is conducted fortnightly on Saturdays for the students. Mentoring sessions for the students were organized as part of the Program to sensitize them about their social responsibilities. As part of the Program, the following institutions were selected for the academic year 2013-2014:-
- Snehalaya, Don Bosco Boys Orphanage, Dwarka,
- Ashalaya, Don Bosco Girls Orphanage, Dwarka,
- Holy Family AshaNiwas, Girls Orphanage, Mahavir Enclave,
- Mother Teresa’s JeevanJyoti for the Mentally challenged, Nizammudin.
- Food distribution in night shelters in association with the Prachodna Food Distribution Society.
Every fortnight the students of the senior classes are organized in groups to undertake the various social activities. Each of this group is supervised by a Teacher. In addition to the outreach activities, the students also distributed gifts and utility items at the various centers.
The School also conducts afternoon classes for the under privileged children in both Hindi and English medium. The classes are conducted by a team of dedicated teachers of the school. The classes are well subscribed and very popular. Interaction between students of the school and these children is also facilitated. As a part of this initiative the students of the school celebrate Christmas every year with these children. In addition to above the students also provided educational aids to the Anchal, Chanakyapuri a school for mentally challenged.
